Futures in Film runs working film units at the Ken Adam Building, Pinewood: new kit is tested, new crew are trained, and working crew come back to learn. The margin pays for the people the industry has not reached.
WHAT PAYS FOR IT
A product goes through a real shooting day.
A manufacturer gets its kit in the hands of heads of department and of people meeting it for the first time, on a working unit with a call sheet and consequences. What that earns funds training places. Nobody has to donate for either half to work.
THE TEST ROOM
Where the kit is benched.
A room in the Ken Adam Building where cameras, stabilisation systems, drones and AI tools are taken apart, run, and put in front of a unit.
TRAINING
Taught by people on units now.
Courses on a working production package, each one labelled whether we run it or somebody else does. No CV, showreel or qualification needed to apply.
THE PACKAGE
Hire the package.
A Panavision Millennium XL2, Cooke S4 primes, lighting, grip and a 30ft crane, quoted in writing. The margin is asset-locked and funds places.
THE ASSET LOCK
The margin cannot be taken out.
