Futures in Film CIC · Pinewood Studios

Technology decides what gets made, and who gets to make it.

Futures in Film runs working film units at the Ken Adam Building, Pinewood. Manufacturers test kit here before it ships; productions take crew, equipment and space; heads of department teach on the same rigs they work on. The people the industry has not reached get on the job rather than on a course.

The test at the end of the week is the real one.

The Test Room

Kit tested between the manufacturer and the unit.

A product goes through a shooting day in the hands of working heads of department and people meeting it for the first time. Experienced crew adapt to a fault without noticing. People who are new fail to get the shot, and tell you why. MR Helix contributes the technical expertise and infrastructure.

Recognition

Finalist, Duke of Edinburgh Film & TV Inclusion Award 2025, Production Guild of Great Britain.

A finalist listing, not a win, and we do not describe it as one. It sits alongside the filed impact report and the published coverage.

The model

The work pays for the work.

Futures in Film CIC is asset-locked. What testing, hire and commissions earn is locked into the company and funds what it does. Nobody takes it out.

Working with us

Tell us what you need on the lot.

Manufacturers, productions, institutions and crew use the same form. Say what you are trying to do and when you need it.
